The vital communication tool you didn't learn in school

The vital communication tool you didn't learn in school

Communication –it’s an integral and vital part of our everyday lives right?  In simple terms we describe it as is the activity of conveying meaning through a shared system of signs and semiotic rules.

We are expected to master these crucial life skills through a life-long learning process known as trial and error.

We communicate in the best way we know how – however, reality is that this is often in a haphazard and inept manner that then leaves us puzzled, confused and frustrated as we wonder what went wrong?

Reality is, there is much deeper level of understanding needed when it comes communication that stems from a science in human behaviour.

How and why are we not all aware and equip with the skills to understand this? Because it is something that simply does not appear anywhere in education systems. We were never taught it in school!

There is a scientifically validated and proven body of knowledge that teaches anybody, anywhere how to maintain a peak performance “OK mindset” and it’s called the Process Communication Model (PCM)

PCM in a nutshell focuses on identifying and understanding the simple triggers, distress patterns and psychological needs of individuals.

Let’s use this simple analogy - We are all made up of a set of ‘ingredients’ so to speak. Each of our makeups consist of the same ingredients however each ingredient ‘quantity’ or ‘amount’ differs from person to person.

As a result, each individual’s needs, distress patterns of behaviour as well as motivators are going to be vastly different.

Our varying individual ‘make up’ therefore calls for a varying communication approach to be used according to who we are communicating with.  We cannot simply communicate in the same way to a whole range of varying individuals, with varying needs and expect the same results from each one.

PCM is a vital life tool that can be used across all levels of communication we encounter – including self-communication!

Whether you are a mother raising multiple children – what works in getting the best out of one child may be vastly different to what may work for child number 2, 3 and so on OR you may be coaching a sporting team or leading a workforce – the approach we use to get peak performance from one employee (or player) is going to be very different to what works with employee or player number two.

The first step is in educating ourselves and understanding the varying factors that make up individuals, understanding the triggers for these varying personality structures and identifying them to put the skills in place and get the best out of people.

PCM really is the missing link in mindset, communication and peak performance training!
